Pounding Tires Without Getting Tired

THE dirt cheapest Architectural Designer pounding his first tires with a pogo-stick.  Works great!!

Mikey's first Mechanized Tire Pounding ...  After first filling the tire with dirt, radially kicking the dirt into the tire and refilling, the application of this tamper compacts the tire to approximately 90% complete in three to four minutes, given a constant supply of additional dirt.  The pounded section (wheel hole) must then be filled, a small cupped-out shape, and tamped itself .. Voila! 5 minutes per very well compacted tire, measuring no less than 10" high (given a 235/75R15). Moving enough dirt to fill as many tires as you can pound easily, now becomes the not so easy problem.  The unit pictured is a Thor Industrial Air Tamper, Model #9359, Size #6T, a pneumatic industrial reciprocating tamping machine with a 5-1/2" diameter *modified* tamping head.

Note: the surface of the tamping head should be specially radiused (about like a large grapefruit - no flat) as to force radial "flow" of compacted earth. This horizontal/radial flow is accomplished without changing the vertical axis of the pogo-stick, rather to rotate the axis keeping it vertical and parallel to the vertical axis of the tire.

You'll need an air compressor the size of this one, tho:
