How Tire Bales Are Made In Pictures
The press is shown here with the front door open, ready to load with tires.
The first increment of twenty tires is loaded and ready to be pressed.
The press is actuated, the tires are restrained with 'dawgs' while the platen is raised and the next twenty tires are loaded and pressed. This process is repeated until 100 are loaded and pressed.
With all 100 tires held by the platen, both the front and rear doors of the press are opened and the (5) .113 diameter steel wires are placed around the bale and fastened.
Each end of the wire is preformed with half a square knot. The two are easily slipped together and snugged into position.
